With 2019 ending, there are still much more anticipated movies that will be released from September to December. Keep an eye out for these 6 movies for your viewing pleasure!

1. Joker

This highly anticipated Joker film will hit cinemas this October 4. Directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker/Arthur Fleck, this film follows a failed comedian who slowly descends into madness while being ignored and ridiculed by society.

What makes the Joker a standout from the rest of the comic book films is that it is not based on any Joker comic books. Instead, it is character-driven with the story being originally written. Hence, we’ll be getting something original this time!

The film has premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was very well received by critics, who gave an 8-minute standing ovation as the credits rolled. IGN gave it a rare 10/10 rating while IMDB gave it a 9.7/10 from 6,541 users as of the time of this writing.

2. Gemini Man

3. Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

The Saga comes to an end with Episode 9. All Star Wars movies end here (unless Disney decides to give the green light to more trilogies).

Years after the events from The Last Jedi, the surviving resistance face the First Order. Equipped with everything they have, the power knowledge of their ancestors, they are set for the final battle. It is the culmination of all-Star Wars films like it is with Endgame. All generations ends here.

Fan theories have been floating around of possible shocking reveals, twists, and deception. We’ll just have to wait until 20 December to find out!

4. Midway

It seems that the trend of war films will never die. And well you’re in for a treat on November 8 when Midway premieres!

Set in 1942 during the Battle of Midway, the soldiers and their commanders set the course of action that will change the path of history. Explosions, warplanes, soldiers, gunfire: checked.

5. Knives Out

Source

At a family gathering, Harian Thrombey, who is the patriarch of his dysfunctional family is found mysteriously dead in a room. Who killed him? A detective comes in and immediately declares everyone a suspect. No ONE is going out until he gets to the bottom of this. Everyone will be questioned. Everyone is a suspect.

If anything about the film is murder-mystery-esque, it’s more of a neo-noir black comedy film. With this quirky, weird family, the film will be filled with twists, red herrings, and lies that the family has dearly hold on to. What secrets could the family possibly be hiding?

And not to mention the star-studded cast: Chris Evans, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, Daniel Craig, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Chris Evans plays a character who is foul-mouthed, which is very far from his squeaky-clean image in Avengers. We can’t wait to see him playing a dark, meaner character!

6. Little Women

Source

Little Women is a novel adaptation of the same name by Louisa May Alcott. Fresh out of the civil war, four sisters come of age in its aftermath. Focusing on their adult lives, the trailer gives a heart-warming, dramatic and comedic theme to the film as they navigate through their lives.

Directed by Greta Gerwig (Jackie, Lady Bird, 20th Century Women) and led by a strong cast, starring Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Meryl Streep, and Timothee Chalamet, it is probably something that will be hard to ignore. The trailer hints something positive and dramatic out of this film.

The film is set to be released on 25 December 2019.
